See screenshot below. I followed the instructions on https://www.home-assistant.io/installation/macos to the letter and confirmed no less than 6 different times that every single detail is as you stated. The instructions are not correct.

The problem would seem to be the ethernet. The wifi is turned off, and the ethernet cable is plugged in, and in fact I am typing this comment through a remote screenshare to that machine through the ethernet, so I know it is working right. Nonetheless, using the exact settings you give in your instructions did not provide a usable VM.

Some sort of acknowledgement on that page that the instructions may be incorrect, and troubleshooting steps to follow in that case, would be helpful, and might save users from spending unproductive time on this.
