Feedback

Dear friends,
OpenThread Border Router integration documentation needs some more information. Searching through google and on HA forum, it generates more questions than answers.

What is the REST API address in this case and where do we get it?

How to install and use it on HA Core? If that is not possible, it should be written as a disclosure and warning when one buys the stick. If it is possible, some document / link should be available.

Why is SkyConnect ZBT-1 discovered in HA Core and cannot be added, only in HA OS? What is the connection between these two integrations (obrt vs. SkyConnect ZBT-1 integration)?

This pops up in HA when adding SkyConnect ZBT-1:

"The OpenThread Border Router addon can only be installed with Home Assistant OS. If you would like to use the Home Assistant SkyConnect as an Thread border router, please flash the firmware manually using the web flasher and set up OpenThread Border Router to communicate with it."

What does it mean to "set up OpenThread Border Router"? The text suggests two seemingly antagonistic ideas: otbr can only be installed with HA OS, but you can flash it manually and set it up anyway.

I flashed the stick with universal-silabs-flasher and ot-rcp-v2.4.5.0-skyconnect-460800.gbl firmware. I also have OpenThread Border Router running in my podman. Obviously there is more to be done but that is missing in this documentation. Where do we get the API address?

Thanks.
