I successfully set up Squeezelite on OpenWRT and connected it to SlimProto, without LMS.
I tested several MP3 and WAV files, and they all played fine, but FLAC was unavailable.
I installed LMS independently and connected the OpenWRT to it.
This allowed music, including FLAC, to play fine.
So the problem seems to be with the SlimProto integration.
