Is there is a semiglobal mode where the beginning of both sequences is fixed, but the end is "loose"?

Background: I have a seed and want to compute the alignment beginning at the end of the seed. This is often referred to as an "alignment extension". The documentation doesn't mention an sg_qe_de mode, and a quick grep on the source code also did not reveal anything.
