right-to-left display in search mode #257639

@hros

Description

@hros

Does this issue occur when all extensions are disabled?: Yes

  • VS Code Version: 1.102.1
  • OS Version: Windows 11, 24H2, Build 26100.4652

Steps to Reproduce:

  1. Open a new tab in VS Code
  2. Copy a long right-to-left text to the tab. For example, copy text from the top-left box from the following web page: https://generator.lorem-ipsum.info/_hebrew
  3. Toggle word wrap (Alt-Z) to combine the paragraphs (the text is aligned to the left, and punctuation marks on the end of the line appear on the right instead of the left. That is also worth looking into)
  4. Search for any text, for example, the first word in the text: "מדע"
  5. When the text is found, the words in the corresponding line are shifted, and the found word is not displayed in its original position. Exiting the search view restores the word's position.
