Some of the buildings in Sanaa are of great cultural significance, as the city has been inhabited for more than 2,500 years and was made a World Heritage Site in 1986 by the United Nations. Among the historic sights are the 1,400-year-old Great Mosque of Sanaa and the Bāb al-Yaman, the 1,000-year-old gate in the city wall. Sanaa is a fascinating mix of the historic and the modern, as it also houses a 25,000-seater football stadium, home to the Yemen national soccer team. Much of Sanaa's employment is in the public sector, while other jobs are in trade and industry. An English-language education is provided at Sanaa International School, founded in 1971. A 300-bed hospital is located near Sanaa International Airport, the main domestic and international airport in Yemen.
