ArcGIS Basemap Styles service

The ArcGIS Basemap Styles service is a location service that provides basemap styles and data for the world. The service returns styles as JSON based on the Mapbox Style Specification (v8) or the ArcGIS Web Map Specification. The basemap data are returned as vector tiles and/or map tiles depending on the style used. The data supports the Web Mercator spatial reference. The basemap data and styles represent features and labels for land, water, roads, buildings, cities, places, and administrative boundaries. The styles can also represent satellite data and labels.

The service supports two style families: ArcGIS Basemap styles and Open Basemap styles . The styles are categorized into the following groups: streets, topography, satellite, reference, and creative. Key styles support style preferences such as language, worldview, and places. Custom styles can also be accessed with the service. Examples of supported styles are arcgis/streets, arcgis/navigation, arcgis/outdoor, arcgis/imagery (satellite), open/osm-style, and open/streets.

The service provides a list of the supported styles. Metadata can also be returned for each style.
