Journal Entry – Part 2

moonbeams&kisses's avatarMoonbeams & Kisses

Vulnerable doesn’t look good on me; it never has. I write to make sense of my emotions. I write to heal. While my words come from a place of love, sometimes they’re coupled with frustration, fear, pain. The process isn’t always pretty. I am tired of this weight I carry. But there’s never any rest for the weary, is there? So, I resume my place as the memory keeper—the strong, silent observer who picks up the pieces, fastens them back as well as I can, and holds it all together.

Daily Prompts- A fantasy

Sadje's avatarKeep it alive

This would be my best fantasy fulfilled

Cakes, rock buns, sandwiches, and tea

Some might say that I aim low

That food shouldn’t be something to dream about

But for someone who has been at war

All their adult life, trying to vanquish

The enemy that is obesity and overweight

It is one thought foremost in my mind

If someone invented calorie-free goodies

How wonderful it would be for people like me

To eat till we couldn’t eat anymore

But to still weight the same as before

But…….

I should stop being a ninnyhammer

As this dream is not going to come true

Let’s go out for a walk and try to shed

These unwanted pounds and get healthy

From my evening walk, yesterday! There was a light drizzle and there looked magnificent in the fading sunlight.

In response to the following prompts;

YDWP;

Vanquish

3TC;

Cake, Buns…

One day in future

Nirja Gelal's avatarBeans, Pen & Nirja

One day, I might come to your city again

I’ll visit the streets we walked together

When we crossed the busy roads,

I remember how you held my hands

I’ll remember how happy we were

Until then I’m carrying you in every drop of my tears

May be I’ll never forgive you

Still, these feelings I have for you won’t change

Forming A Positive Chain Reaction – Daily Quote

We are all links in a chain. No link is unimportant, each link, every individual, is completely essential. Together we play a role in achieving a greater purpose. My friends and family are health care workers and law enforcement officers. They are on the frontline, working long hours for our health and protection. Daily they see, handle, and resolve issues so we can live in comfort. Yet, they rely on us for comfort, too.

The frontline workers depend on their support systems for things like childcare, senior care, appropriate equipment, food, and emotional care. When they are secure, when they know their families are safe in their absence, they commit and focus on their jobs. When they have needed equipment, and we remind them of the simple functions of eating and sleeping, they work at peak levels with confidence. And when they have seen and experienced more than any human should…

A time to rethink

Savvy Raj's avatarSavvy Raj

A time to rethink
Revisit your old patterns
Of being and doing.
Pause a bit and analyze.

On what you did and what mattered.
Check what worked and what didn’t
Filter them out and bridge the gaps
The process will loop in all of you.

Take a look at your self today
Search your sense of identity
That is the truth of who you are
Perhaps buried under the burden of being.

Surface the layers of life
Summon the truths of your being
And course through to chart
Sensing a new shifting in this now

Who knows perhaps
These shifts will alter and align
While turning the world over
To evolve us all for the better along the way.

Tripping on Raincoats

prikcab [ Ian Perlman]'s avatarlooking in your window

winter’s frost has soaked into the soil

peeks of green poised to rise

neighbors distant, out of sight

buds sit upon the branch

forgiveness ready for bloom

but where are all the people

feeling stretched beyond our test

barely able to cover our sensitivities

friendly faces all inside

days are coming

to relax the tension

side by side, we will be again
