Dr. Heinz Durrer, Professeur emeritus Etudes en Biologie à Bâle, Suisse. Doctorat en 1965 chez Prof. Dr. A. Portmann. Habilitation en 1975 à la Faculté de Médecine de l'Université de Bâle, Professeur en Biologie médicale jusqu'en 2001. A partir de 1989 mise en place et suivi de la Station de Recherche Petite Camargue Alsacienne et réalisation de travaux de renaturation sur site. Direction de projets, de mémoires et thèses dans le domaine des amphibiens, mammifères, insectes et oiseaux, et de l'entretien d'espaces naturels. |

Dr. Valentin Amrhein, director of the Research Station Studies of Biology in Basel, Switzerland. Diploma thesis in 1999 supervised by Prof. Dr. Heinz Durrer and Prof. Dr. Stephen C. Stearns. Initiated the nightingale project in 1997, and is director of the Research Station since 1999. Ph.D. exam in February 2004. In 2005, spent a postdoctoral research year at the University of Oslo, Norway. Since 2006, Valentin is associated with the Institute of Evolutionary Biology at the University of Basel as a group leader. He teaches Ornithology, Behavioural Ecology and Statistics, and is consulting editor for Animal Behaviour. |

Tobias Roth, Ph.D. student Studies of Biology in Basel (Switzerland) and Bergen (Norway). Diploma thesis 2004 at the Swiss Ornithological Institute, on the phenology of migrating birds in Mauritania, Western Africa, supervised by Prof. Dr. Bruno Bruderer and Dr. Felix Liechti. From 2005 to 2007, Tobias studied applied statistics at the ETH Zürich. He is half-time employed as a research assistant at Hintermann & Weber AG. For his Ph.D., he investigates the causes and consequences of male-biased adult sex ratios in songbirds, and particularly in nightingales. Supervised by Dr. Valentin Amrhein and Prof. Dr. Dieter Ebert. |

Since January 2008, he is at the Netherlands Institute of Ecology (NIOO-KNAW) in Heteren, Netherlands. Marc works during the field season at the Research Station Petite Camargue Alsacienne since 2001. |

Dr. Fränzi Korner-Nievergelt & Dr. Pius Korner Etudes en Biologie à l'Université de Bâle (Pius) et de Zürich (Fränzi). En 2001 - 2003 études de statistiques appliquées à l'ETH de Zürich. Fränzi et Pius dirigent le centre d'éducation à l'environnement d'Ettiswil (canton de Lucerne en Suisse) et l'entreprisent de conseil statistique Oikostat. Ils sont collaborateurs réguliers de la Station de Recherche. |
