a Common Rosefinch was heard singing from 1st field 05:55 before flying towards 2nd field. It was then heard singing again from 1st field 07:10, but wasn’t relocated thereafter. This represents the first record of the species at the Mere.

3rd June – Hornsea Mere, 1st Field/Southside/Wassand (LB,JL,RL,ML,AE,BMJ,MR,JH)

a superb male Red-backed Shrike was found late morning (LB) in 1st Field and showed for around 45mins before going missing, and seen only briefly twice thereafter upto 13:30.
